About Us
Service above self.
We are passionate about serving the needs of our community whenever we can. Being a part of Rotary allows you to give back to so many in need in the county as we come together to improve the lives of our friends and neighbors in Pamlico County.

History of Rotary Club of Oriental… the early years
The Oriental Rotary Club (#6172) was chartered on September 10th, 1951 in the Whitehurst Hotel. There were twenty charter members of the club. The Rev. John M. Waters served as the first president upon the nomination of “Captain Bill Mason” who was active in our club until he passed away in 2001. The organization of our club is typical of Rotary Clubs worldwide. The officers and directors constitute the Board of Directors. They are responsible for running the club, selecting activities to be supported, identifying club functions, establishing committees, etc.
Oriental Rotary Club Meets weekly on Mondays (excluding major holidays) from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brantley’s Village Restaurant located on Broad Street Oriental, NC. Meetings include a meal and a program.
If you are interested in joining Rotary, please contact Sheri Rettew, our Club Admin Chair, at orientalrotaryclub@gmail.com. Or, attend a Monday night meeting – your first meal is on us.
We connect people.
1.2 million people worldwide come together both locally and globally to serve their communities and those across the globe. Being a part of Rotary gives access to social support, team building, and gives you the opportunity to create lifelong friendships.
We transform communities.
Our club members provide more than 1,000 volunteer hours through service projects, tent rentals, and fundraising each year. No one is ever charged for our services.
We provide scholarships & financial support to individuals and qualifying groups.
We provide more than $50,000 of funding to local nonprofits through our fundraising and Rotary grants to support critical needs in the community. Our club provides more than $15,000 in scholarships each year to selected applicants so that they can continue their education.
