Oriental Rotary Club honored Pamlico County’s Ten
Outstanding Scholars and their parents at a dinner on Monday
May 18th. These students demonstrated superior academic
and extra curricular achievements during their high school
tenure.

The Rotary Club of Oriental is pleased to announce its 2009
Tarpon Tournament July 24 - 26, a catch and release event
with over $22,000 in cash & prizes for the winners.
The tournament benefits the Oriental Rotary Scholarship
Fund, providing academic scholarships to worthy high school
seniors and community college students from Pamlico County.
Whittaker Pointe Marina will be the base for this year’s
tournament. This lovely and spacious marina hosted the ‘07
and ‘08 Tarpon Tournaments. Saturday evening Oriental
Rotary will sponsor a barbecue dinner, raffle and musical
groups. A Sunday afternoon concert is planned and Rotary
will sell hot dogs and hamburgers. The public is invited
to all festivities. Details regarding ticket cost
and purchase points will be available at a later date.

During
the February 9th Meeting, Past President Jim Berry
awarded Paul Harris Fellowships to
Doug Carmichael, George Link, and Sam Myers.
